Arborist services for Salt Spring Island and the BC Gulf Islands
Rooted in Nature. Guided by Sustainability.
Trees aren’t just part of the landscape – they’re part of our community. I specialized in sustainable tree care that respects the ecosystems of BC’s beautiful Gulf Islands.

Tree Removal
Leaning and dead trees can threaten cars, houses and roadways. Although tree removal is often necessary, I encourage clients to find ways to keep trees alive through trimming, pruning and other approaches.

Pruning and Tree Maintenance
Pruning is more than just cutting branches — it’s a sustainable way to support tree health, longevity and safety.
Thoughtful, eco-conscious pruning encourages strong growth, enhances views and helps tress thrive in harmony with the people that live alongside them.

Storm Damage Mitigation and Clean-up
When storms strike, I’m here to safely clear fallen branches and damaged tress, carefully restoring your property.
This protects people, trees and property.

Managing Complex
Tree bracing helps support weak or split limbs, preventing breakage and extending the life of your trees. I use non-invasive techniques to stabilize trees safely and ensure long-term health.
Sustainability and tree conservation
My work focuses on long-term health of both trees and ecosystems.
This means preserving trees whenever possible, using biodegradable chain oil, and never climbing with spurs unless a tree is being removed.
I work with nature’s rhythms, using species-specific knowledge and seasonal timing to ensure every cut supports a tree’s future.
I’m also a proud member of Atmos Tree, an international alliance of eco-minded arborists that plants new trees for every tree I remove.

About Esat Tuerkoglu
I’ve loved climbing trees since I was a kid, maybe because I’m so short!
I started my career in Germany as an industrial climber inspecting cell towers, but my passion for nature brought me to Canada, where I shifted my focus to trees.
For me, being an arborist isn’t about cutting down trees — it’s about keeping them alive. I bring a sustainability-first mindset to everything I do, combining technical skills and knowledge with a deep respect for the natural world.
Climbing trees with a chainsaw and helping them thrive? That’s the dream.
I’m proud to call Salt Spring Island, BC home, where I live with my wife and our 4-year-old daughter.
